SJ IM Brings Privacy and Lock-tight Security to World of Instant Messaging

Nicosia, Cyprus (PRWEB) February 04, 2014

Instant messaging (IM) has now surpassed text messaging as the preferred method for fast, text-based communications. Unfortunately, all of these messages are vulnerable to interception unless users take steps to protect themselves. SJ Software Development Group (http://safetyjabber.com/) has engineered a security solution for IM programs thats both easy to deploy and virtually impossible for hackers and spies to circumvent. Currently, SJ IM (Safetyjabber) is available for Windows, Mac OS X and iOS.

Encryption of instant messages is not just a concern for corporations. Individuals, too, can benefit from knowing their private communications cannot be read by anyone except the intended recipient. In addition, the software encrypts chat logs, so no one can pry into a users chat history.

SJ is built on the XMPP (Jabber), OSCAR (ICQ) protocol, an open source protocol that powers countless IM clients. Users need not be technically inclined, as no initial configuration of the instant messenger is required. Once running, all messages are sent in complete anonymity. In the past, encrypting instant messages was a tedious, manual process that was beyond the skill or patience of ordinary users.

SJ IM provides the highest level of encryption (4096-bit) for instant messaging, but it works for more than just messages. The software also protects file transfers conducted via instant message pathways. Likewise, contact lists can be exported or imported using PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) keys and auto encryption OTR (Off-the-Record Messaging). SJ IM also enables security and anonymity when using the latest social media messaging services like Facebook Messenger.

Premium users of SJ IM also have access to Safetyjabbers Screen Saver utility. With the utility activated, bringing the desktop back to life requires a password; the utility also enables the use of hot keys to switch on the screen saver or send the computer into emergency shutdown. For convenience, the utility can easily be activated and deactivated. In organizational environments where privacy and security are paramount, the Screen Saver utility simply adds one more layer of protection to SJ IM software.

SJ Software is currently testing an Android version of SJ IM, with plans to bring the same robust level of security to the Android platform. For now, interested parties can learn more about the various SJ IM clients, as well as test drive a 30-day trial version here: http://safetyjabber.com/download.php.
